Function of Department:
To actively enforce the Stafford County Sanitary Code, which addresses permitting requirements for all water well and private wastewater systems in unincorporated areas of the county.
Services:
Water Well Permitting
- For all domestic, lawn/garden, livestock and oilfield water wells
- Site inspections for potential well placement
- Post construction inspection of water wells
- Water test kits provided on request
Private Wastewater Systems Permitting
- Site inspections for proposed tank and lateral field
- Sizing system for proper tank capacity and lateral field square footage
- Post construction inspection of wastewater system
Licensing for all wastewater contractors and wastewater haulers working in Stafford County.
