Stafford County Communications is looking for full and part-time dispatchers to join our team. Dispatching is not your average desk job. Dispatchers are at the heart of every emergency response in our county. With roughly 4,000 residents spread across nearly 800 square miles, dispatchers are the steady voice that keeps law enforcement, EMS, and fire moving in the right direction when seconds matter most.
But it’s not just emergencies. Dispatchers also handle administrative and non-emergency calls, providing accurate information, assistance, and coordination to keep daily operations running smoothly. Whether it’s guiding first responders to a critical scene or answering routine questions from the public, every call matters.
We’re looking for someone who can think quickly, remain calm, and maintain clear communication under pressure. The ideal candidate is a multitasker who thrives on responsibility, follows protocols with precision, and keeps a level head no matter the situation.
In this role, you’ll be part of a close-knit team that takes pride in serving the community. Every shift brings new challenges, and every call, emergency or administrative, is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the safety and well-being of our neighbors. If you’re ready for a role that combines responsibility with purpose, Stafford County is ready for you. Stop by our office at 209 N Broadway St., St. John, KS 67576, or call us at 620-549-3247 for more information. Sit-in observations are available as well.
