County Attorney
The County Attorney is the chief law enforcement officer in Stafford County. The Office is staffed by the County Attorney (elected and one legal secretary). The Office handles felony crimes, select misdemeanor and traffic prosecutions and other specialized prosecutions. Generally, cases include murder, rape, robbery, juvenile offenses, care and treatment actions, child in need of care, criminal appeals and select traffic offenses. The County Attorney’s Office also conducts inquisitions into alleged criminal activities, oversees the preparation of search warrants and assists law enforcement in investigations when needed.
